DEP1 and DEP2 are company-level annual landfill reports. They are different inventories: licensed unsanitary landfills versus wild (illegal) dumps.

DEP1 β non-sanitary landfills
Who and why. Companies that operate non-sanitary (unsanitary) landfills report yearly operation, monitoring, and waste disposed at each site. Sanitary landfills are not this form.
When. The company has a DEP1 obligation and at least one landfill record. The Landfills menu appears when DEP1 applies or records already exist. One DEP1 form exists per company, year, and landfill.
What to fill in
- General β company, year, landfill, statement of responsibility.
- Unsanitary landfill β site characteristics, operation, monitoring, and waste disposed.
- Note.
If the landfill is missing from the list, Company Admin adds it under Landfills when the company is active. Other roles cannot create landfill records.
DEP2 β wild landfills
Who and why. Typically municipal waste companies (and similar obligated operators) report an inventory of illegal dumps: location, estimated quantities, area, how often they are cleaned, and whether they reappear. The form supports clean-up planning and enforcement.
When. The company has a DEP2 obligation. Wild dumps are entered on the form, not in the Landfills list. One DEP2 form exists per company and year (with multiple dump rows).
What to fill in
- General β company, year, statement of responsibility.
- Illegal landfills β one row per dump (location, estimates, cleaning count, recurrence).
- Note.
Cleaning count is zero or greater. An empty inventory is a valid report only when no wild dumps were identified for that year and that is consistent with the obligation.
Specifics
DEP1 needs a landfill master record first. DEP2 does not. Mixing the two lists is a common error: a wild dump does not belong under Landfills, and an unsanitary site does not belong only as a DEP2 row.
