Waste handling (GIO2–GIO5)

Company AdminFacility user

GIO2, GIO3, GIO4, and GIO5 are four obligations with a similar layout: general header, permits, then the activity (disposal, reuse, export, or import). Each is a separate annual form for the facility. Only assigned obligations can be created.

Waste generated at the site belongs on waste production (FORM 5 / LRIZ 5 / GIO1), not on these handling forms.

GIO2 — waste disposal

For facilities that take over waste and dispose of it. Typical content:

  • permits for the disposal activity
  • landfill or disposal-site data
  • quantities taken over and disposed of, by waste type
  • extra breakdown for WEEE when that waste appears from 2019 onward

GIO3 — waste reuse

For facilities that collect waste and send it to reuse or recovery. Typical content:

  • collection and recovery permits
  • facility / collection-site data
  • quantities collected and reused, storage balances
  • WEEE class split when electrical waste is reused (from 2019)

GIO4 — waste export

For facilities that export waste from the country. Typical content:

  • export permits
  • export rows: catalogue code, destination country, transit countries, R/D operation, quantities
  • Y / C / N lists and EE classes where those rules apply

GIO5 — waste import

For facilities that import waste into the country. Typical content:

  • import permits
  • import rows: catalogue code, country of origin, transit countries, quantities
  • Y / C / N lists where those rules apply

Shared specifics

One GIO2 (or GIO3 / GIO4 / GIO5) exists per facility and year. Permits on the form should match the activity actually reported. Quantity tables must use waste catalogue codes consistent with the facility’s waste records.

Daily collector movements are DEO6 / GIO6, not an annual GIO handling form.
